The unlikely story of how a podcast born during a pandemic became a global platform for human conversation.
The Great Indoors began in April 2020 as an experiment. No studio. No grand strategy. Just two people in Toronto and Boston trying to create conversations worth listening to.
Six years, 12 seasons and more than 200 guests later, that experiment had travelled from home offices to some of the world’s biggest stages — and ultimately became the foundation for The Last Bastion Media.

What began as conversations from our homes started travelling.
In 2021, The Great Indoors became an official podcast of MWC Los Angeles and recorded its first live show. The microphones left the basements. The conversations moved onto stages, into events and in front of audiences.
What had started as a pandemic experiment was becoming something neither of us had anticipated: a global storytelling platform.
.

What began with a laptop and a conversation became 12 seasons of people, places and stories from around the world.

Six years of conversations taught us something surprisingly simple: people remember people.
Technology changes. Platforms change. Formats change. But the stories that endure are the ones that reveal personality, emotion, experience and a point of view.
The Great Indoors taught us how to find those stories, how to create an environment in which people genuinely open up, and how to turn a conversation into content that travels.
That experience became The Last Bastion Media.
We don't manufacture stories. We find the human story that's already there.

Every organisation has stories worth telling. Let’s find yours — and create something people genuinely want to hear.
